What's the easiest way to get to Gatwick airport?
By Jon Vickery

Getting to the airport without any hassle can make or break the start to your holiday, especially if you're travelling with a baby.
To help you get your holiday off to a hassle-free start, we provide comprehensive directions to London Gatwick airport.
London Gatwick is located 28 miles from the centre of London and is well signposted. The best way of reaching Gatwick airport is via the M23 motorway. The M23 branches south off junction 7 of the M25.
As this is the simplest method of reaching the airport from any location in the UK, we will now provide directions from different areas of the UK to the M23. The directions above can then be used for the final stage of the journey.
Travelling from the north: The best way to reach the M25 from the north of the UK is via the M1, M6/M40, A1 or M11. From the M40 or M1 it is best to turn right onto the M25 (anti-clockwise) and continue round to junction 7. From the A1 or M11, turn left onto the M25, and continue clockwise via the Dartford (toll) crossing to junction 7. Take the M23 south towards Gatwick airport. Follow the motorway until junction 9, signposted for Gatwick airport.
Travelling from the west: You will probably come in from either the M4 or the A303/M3. When you arrive at the M25, turn right and continue anti-clockwise until junction 7. Take the M23 south towards Gatwick airport. Follow the motorway until junction 9, signposted for Gatwick airport.
