Life before Holiday Extras

I have enjoyed long periods at market-leading companies, including ten years at The New York Times and 12 years at Google, working in the finance and travel industries. My journey to Holiday Extras is the sum of all these parts.

A man of Kent, my family and academic years were spent in East Kent, close to the Holiday Extras main UK offices.

Why HX

Holiday Extras' "less hassle, more holiday" mission was an initial attraction, but it was the people and environment that clinched it!

Life outside HX

My wife, Amanda, and I have four children, which brings a certain complexity to life outside of work. I coach at Ashford Hockey Club in winter and Wye (Ashford) Cricket Club in summer.

Amanda and I enjoy dining out and spending time with friends and family, and when we can, we escape for a night or two. I will watch any sport, whenever possible, and favoured relaxation is decent coffee and a good book.

What/where's your favourite place and why?

Kent. I love to travel, but I live where I want to spend most of my time – the rolling downs of Kent. All four seasons, access to Europe on the doorstep, and short drives to airports when needed.

What's your perfect hassle-free holiday and why?

I appreciate removing unnecessary interactions and queues. My ideal hassle-free holiday would include digital check-ins, keyless entry, and the ability to cast my own streaming series to the TV.

What's your favourite value and why?

Integrity. Whether family, friend, colleague, or customer, I believe integrity is the secret to a successful relationship.

Interesting fact

I am part of two world records: one for singing in a round ("Happy" by Pharrell Williams) and the other for beatboxing.
